Jagriti is an educational and awareness campaign for women, focused on spreading awareness about women’s health, including reproductive health and menstrual hygiene. In alignment with the National Health Mission and SABLA* program of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Himalaya collaborated with USF (United Sisters Foundation) in 2019 to kickstart Jagriti and promote menstrual hygiene education.
The aim of the program is to train, educate, identify, and empower women (within an age bracket of 10-45 years) from all sections of society, by conducting informative and interactive sessions in the rural backdrops of India. We engage with girls and women through regular follow-ups to understand the improvement in their knowledge, attitude, and adoption of measures with regards to menstrual health management. In addition, we record the impact of the program and analyze the way forward to ensure that sustainable practices are followed. We have connected with 1,283 women and girls, provided training to make reusable cloth pads, and encourage conversations around menstrual health management.
